Tuyo Health Review 2026: Strong Features, Serious Legal Baggage

Tuyo Health is a Miami-based telehealth platform offering compounded semaglutide from $209/month, compounded tirzepatide at $349/month, and brand-name Wegovy and Zepbound at $25/copay with insurance. They also cover ED, testosterone, primary care, and birth control. Labs are included. No membership fees. Bilingual English/Spanish service. On features alone, this is one of the more interesting platforms in the space. But there are two facts you need to know. First: CEO and co-founder Dr. German Echeverry is personally named as a defendant in an active DOJ/FTC lawsuit against his previous company, Zealthy, for deceptive subscription billing practices. Second: the FDA sent Tuyo Health a warning letter in September 2025 for misleading marketing claims about their compounded medications.

Dr. German Echeverry is the CEO and co-founder of Tuyo Health. He is also personally named as a defendant in a DOJ/FTC amended complaint filed June 2024 in the Southern District of Florida. The lawsuit targets Zealthy Inc., Gronk Inc., Bruno Health P.A., and Echeverry individually.

At Zealthy, Echeverry served as Senior Medical Director and headed Bruno Health P.A., the affiliated medical corporation providing telehealth services. The complaint alleges:

• Charging credit cards without express informed consent

• Zealthy advertised “$25 with insurance and $150 without” but consumers paid multiples more
• Employees posted false patient reviews to suppress negative feedback

Cerebral (another defendant) settled for $5 million in consumer redress plus a $10 million civil penalty. The DOJ continues to pursue civil penalties and injunctive relief against Echeverry, Bruno Health, and Zealthy. The case is ongoing.

Echeverry then co-founded Tuyo Health in 2024, operating in the same telehealth space. Whether Tuyo Health shares any infrastructure with Zealthy is unclear.

FDA Warning Letter (September 2025)

The FDA sent Tuyo Health a warning letter for misbranding under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. Specific violations cited:

• Claiming compounded medications contain the “same active ingredient as Wegovy and Ozempic”
• Claiming compounded medications contain the “same active ingredient as Zepbound and Mounjaro”
• Suggesting compounded versions are equivalent to brand-name drugs

Most competitors only offer compounded medications or brand-name at full cash-pay prices ($599+ per month).
