Editorial Policy
ClearMetabolic publishes information about GLP-1 medications, weight-loss programs, and metabolic health. These are our sourcing and disclosure standards. Older content is under review; we do not claim that every existing page already meets every standard.
Who Writes This Site
Most articles are written by Ash Heleka, the founder of ClearMetabolic. Ash has been on Mounjaro (tirzepatide) since 2024 and tracks progress with DEXA scans every 8 to 12 weeks. He is not a clinician. His background is in investment banking and management consulting. The site's reporting strength is data analysis, pricing transparency, and lived experience, not medical advice.
Where lived experience or business analysis is the angle, Ash writes in first person. Where the topic requires medical claims (dosing, side effects, contraindications, drug interactions), the article cites the relevant clinical trial, FDA label, or peer-reviewed source.
Sourcing Standards
Claims about clinical efficacy, safety or dosing need support from an appropriate primary source. Examples include:
- FDA-approved drug labels and prescribing information
- Phase 3 clinical trials (SURPASS, SURMOUNT, STEP, SELECT, etc.)
- Peer-reviewed publications indexed in PubMed
- FDA shortage list and FDA newsroom announcements
- Manufacturer published statements (Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk, etc.)
- State and federal pharmacy regulatory bodies (NABP, state boards of pharmacy)
Pricing claims should link the provider's official offer, distinguish medication from membership and diagnostics, and separate promotional from recurring amounts. The pricing index includes its own scope and limitations. We do not promise that every price is re-verified monthly.
Fact-Checking and Review
Reviews should disclose what was checked, when, and what was not tested. Checking a public website is not completing signup, using a service or receiving treatment. We use AI tools for research, drafting and checks; this is not independent clinical review. We identify a human or clinical reviewer only when that review actually occurred.
Our publication standard requires claim-level source records, calculations where relevant, and a review of the final text. Unsupported assertions should be sourced, removed or explicitly limited. Sources must support the particular claim: a trial for a branded drug does not establish a telehealth provider's outcomes or a compounded product's equivalence. We do not use word counts or cosmetic date changes as evidence of quality.
If you find an error on any page, please email hello@clearmetabolic.com. Confirmed factual errors are corrected within 7 days and logged in our corrections record.
Conflict of Interest and Affiliate Disclosure
ClearMetabolic earns affiliate commissions when readers click through to providers and sign up for paid programs. Partner offers may appear first in the directory and are clearly labeled. Affiliate relationships do not affect ClearScore calculation, editorial ratings, recommendations, or which providers we cover. Several highly rated providers have no affiliate relationship with the site, and several providers with affiliate relationships are not recommended.
We do not accept payment for placement, paid reviews, or sponsored content. We do not write reviews of products we have not researched independently. Providers cannot pay to be listed in the directory or to improve their ClearScore.
For full affiliate disclosure see our disclaimer page.
